A random, public drawing was be held on April 16, 2026, to determine enrollment and waitlist priority.

Requests will be granted enrollment in the order they are received, as space allows. Please note that the waiting list is fluid (plans change, people move). We encourage you to complete a Request for Enrollment–it’s free, and there’s no commitment.

Register for Kindergarten

I want to register my kindergartner.

Open Enrollment ended March 20, 2026, however, there is still space in kindergarten. Enrollment will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

AGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must be five years old by September 1, 2026, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year.

Transitional Kindergarten

AACA partners with local elementary schools to provide transitional kindergarten. We do not provide services on-site.

However, we are currently assessing interest for an on-site option!

Admission Preference

Please note: The charter gives preference in admissions to students who are currently enrolled in, or who reside in, the elementary school attendance area of the public elementary school in which Almond Acres Charter Academy is located.

What is a charter school?

Charter schools are open to the public, are tuition-free, participate in state tests, employ credentialed teachers, and do not discriminate.

Charter schools are granted greater flexibility in their operations and do not have to adhere to all the regulations imposed upon school districts. 

Charter schools, like traditional public schools, are accountable for academic results, and must be able to demonstrate financial and organizational stability.

Will I need to obtain a district transfer?

No. As a school of choice, a release from your district or transfer is NOT required.

Do current students need to fill out a Request for Enrollment?

No, currently enrolled students are automatically re-enrolled for next year. However, families are asked to complete an Intent to Return Form in the spring.

Do siblings of current students who are not currently enrolled need to fill out a Request for Enrollment?

Yes. They must follow the same procedure as all new students requesting enrollment, but they will be granted priority if a drawing is to take place for their grade level.
