Almond Acres Academy celebrates eighth grade promotion

Almond Acres Charter Academy will be celebrating the promotion to high school of their eighth grade class on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. The celebration will be held in the Lillian Larsen Gymnasium, San Miguel at 4 p.m. This is the second year the academy has an eighth grade class being promoted to high school, and the San Luis Obispo County community is invited to participate and attend this celebration.

Eighth grade student Elijah Grover said the class has accomplished many things this year. “They have been an indispensable part of the school’s JOOI Club, which is Almond Acres’ student leadership system,” he said. “The eighth grade class has also been successful in running a weekly online shared start broadcast. They have exercised leadership in their everyday activities, and the younger students have been following their example. They have represented Almond Acres in the best way possible on field trips to Paso Robles High School and Cal Poly. Some of their favorite electives this year have been cricket, ultimate, and Destination Imagination, which is an elective where students think creatively to complete an incredibly difficult challenge. The 8th graders will forever be remembered for their invaluable contributions to their school and community.”

Almond Acres Charter Academy is a public, tuition-free K-8 school that employs credentialed teachers and administers state-mandated testing to provide families in northern SLO County an additional choice in public education. The school is located in San Miguel and is open to all students in all communities. AACA’s mission is to, “help students succeed academically and socially by educating the whole child: heart, mind, body and soul.”
